Why Streamwood Families Choose Us
One Team. One Roof. Complete Care.
Most dental offices handle the basics, like cleanings, fillings, and maybe a crown here and there. But when you need something more, such as braces for your teenager, a pediatric dentist for your little one, dental implants, or oral surgery, they send you somewhere else. You end up with appointments at three different offices, paperwork at each one, and the constant worry that your records didn’t make it where they needed to go.
We built our practice differently. We brought together a team of specialists in every area of dentistry:
- General & Cosmetic Dentists for routine care and smile makeovers
- Board-Certified Orthodontist for braces and clear aligners
- Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist for children from infancy through the teenage years
- Oral Surgeons for extractions, wisdom teeth, and implant surgery
- Periodontists for gum disease treatment
When you come to us, you stay with us. No referrals or driving across town. No wondering if your orthodontist talked to your general dentist. Everything happens in one place, with one team that communicates and coordinates your care.
Serving the Community Since 1992
Dr. Peter Katris founded our practice over 30 years ago. He had a vision to create a dental home where families could get everything they needed without being passed from office to office. That vision has grown into two locations serving thousands of families across the western suburbs.
We’ve watched children take their first dental visits with Dr. Kuttab and come back years later for braces with Dr. Valente. We’ve helped parents restore their smiles with dental implants and guided grandparents through denture care. We’re not a corporate chain. We’re local dentists who chose to build our careers here and take care of our neighbors here.
Comfort That Actually Feels Comfortable
Going to the dentist isn’t most people’s idea of a good time. We get it. So we’ve designed our offices to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
- Warm blankets to wrap up in during your appointment
- Phone charging stations so you never worry about a dead battery
- Lip balm and beverages to help you feel refreshed
- LED TVs in front of every chair
We also take a conservative approach to dentistry. That means we focus on preserving your natural teeth whenever possible. Less drilling, less cutting, more of your own healthy tooth structure left intact.
Meet Your Streamwood-Area Dental Team
Our Carol Stream office brings together specialists from every area of dentistry. Here’s who you’ll find when you visit:
Dr. Peter Katris: General & Cosmetic Dentist, Practice Founder
Dr. Katris founded Carol Stream & Elgin Dental Associates in 1992 with a vision of creating a multi-specialty practice that could serve families comprehensively. He excels in all phases of restorative and cosmetic care, from conservative composite bonding to implant-supported restorations and veneers. He stays cutting-edge by actively participating in advanced CAD/CAM dentistry, creating beautiful, strong porcelain onlays and crowns in a single visit.
In the community, Dr. Katris volunteers at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin and leads the annual ADA Veterans’ Smile and Give Kids A Smile events at both offices.
Dr. Johnny Kuttab: Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist
“Every day before I leave, my daughter Annelise tells me: ‘Daddy, don’t let anyone cry today!’ Something I take very seriously.”
Dr. Kuttab is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist who completed his residency at Northwestern University/Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. He’s a dad himself, and that shows in how he connects with young patients. His specialty is making children feel comfortable and even excited about visiting the dentist. If you have a little one who’s nervous about dental visits, Dr. Kuttab is the person you want in their corner.
Dr. Rudolfo Valente: Board-Certified Orthodontist
Dr. Valente is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, which means he has achieved the highest level of certification in his field. He specializes in creating beautiful, straight smiles for children, teens, and adults using traditional braces and clear aligners. Whether your teenager needs braces or you’ve been thinking about straightening your own smile, Dr. Valente has the expertise to help.
Dr. Timothy Hang: General Dentist
Dr. Hang joined our practice in 2001 and is known for his calm, relaxed manner. He practices all phases of general dentistry with a special emphasis on aesthetics. Everything You Need, All in One Place
Cosmetic Dentistry: Because You Deserve a Smile You Love
Your smile is one of the first things people notice. If you’ve been hiding yours because of stains, chips, gaps, or just feeling like it doesn’t look its best. We can help with these cosmetic services:
- Professional Teeth Whitening: Professional whitening brightens your smile several shades in a single visit. It’s one of the simplest ways to feel better about how you look.
- Porcelain Veneers: These thin, custom shells cover the front of your teeth to fix discoloration, chips, gaps, and even minor misalignment. We design each one to match your face and your goals.
- Dental Bonding: A tooth-colored resin applied and shaped by hand in one visit. It’s amazing what a little bonding can do.
General Dentistry: The Foundation of Good Health
Routine preventive care is how you stay ahead of problems. We make it comfortable, thorough, and surprisingly pleasant.
- Family Dentistry: No separate pediatric practice, no switching offices as your kids grow. Just one place for your whole family.
- Emergency Dentistry: Cracked tooth at dinner? Toothache that won’t quit? Call us. We prioritize emergencies and get you in fast.
- Custom Mouthguards: Protect athletes on the field and grinders in their sleep. Store-bought guards are bulky and don’t fit right. Ours are made for you, so they actually stay in place.
- Laser Dentistry: Lets us treat gum issues with less bleeding, less discomfort, and faster healing. It’s one of those technologies you don’t know you want until you try it.
- Sedation Dentistry: For anyone who gets nervous about dental visits. We offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation to help you relax.
- Tooth Extraction: Usually a last resort. When necessary, we ensure you’re comfortable and clear about what comes next.
Restorative Dentistry: Fixing What’s Broken, Replacing What’s Missing
When teeth are damaged or missing, it affects how you eat, how you speak, and how you feel about yourself. Our restorative team brings teeth back to life.
- Dental Implants: The gold standard for missing teeth. A titanium post in your jaw acts like a natural root, topped with a crown that looks and feels real. They don’t slip, don’t click, and can last a lifetime.
- Same-day Crowns: Cover and protect teeth that are too damaged for a filling. Strong, natural-looking, and built to last.
- Dental Bridges: Fill the gap left by one or more missing teeth, preventing the remaining teeth from shifting out of place.
- Dentures & Partials: Modern dentures are more comfortable and natural-looking, and, when supported by implants, they actually stay put.
- Tooth-Colored Fillings: Repair cavities without the dark metal look. They blend right in.
Periodontics & TMJ Treatment: Addressing the Root of the Problem
Periodontics focuses on gum health. If your gums bleed when you brush, feel tender, or seem to be pulling away from your teeth, you need periodontal care. We offer deep cleanings (scaling and root planing) and ongoing therapy to stop gum disease in its tracks.
TMJ Treatment is for jaw pain, headaches, clicking, and the general misery of a jaw that doesn’t work right. We can help with custom night guards, bite adjustments, and in some cases, Botox to relax overworked muscles. If you wake up with headaches or notice your jaw is sore, this one’s worth asking about.
Pediatric Dentistry: Growing Healthy Smiles
Dr. Johnny Kuttab is a board-certified pediatric dentist who treats children from infancy through the teenage years. He’s a dad himself, and he knows how to connect with kids in a way that makes them actually comfortable at the dentist.
“Every day before I leave, my daughter Annelise tells me: ‘Daddy, don’t let anyone cry today!’ Something I take very seriously.”
He handles everything: first visits, fluoride treatments, sealants, and gentle care for little ones who need extra patience. If your child has been nervous about the dentist, Dr. Kuttab is the person you want in their corner.
Orthodontics: Straightening Smiles for All Ages
A straight smile is about function, comfort, and keeping your teeth healthy for the long run. Dr. Rudolfo Valente is a board-certified orthodontist who offers options for every situation.
Damon Braces are a modern take on traditional braces. They use a self-ligating system, which means fewer adjustments, less friction, and often faster treatment times. They’re comfortable, efficient, and work well for complex cases.
Clear Aligners (Invisalign and ClearCorrect) are the discreet alternative. Removable, nearly invisible, and perfect for adults and teens who want to straighten their teeth without anyone noticing.
